Is July a good time for Umrah?
July falls in the summer school holidays, which makes it easier for families to travel together. It is also the hottest time of year in Saudi Arabia, with daytime temperatures in Makkah and Madinah often above 40°C, so plan to perform Tawaf and Sa’i in the early morning or late evening, drink plenty of water and pack light, breathable clothing. Our hotels are a short walk from the Haram, which helps in the heat. Our guide to the best time for Umrah compares the weather and crowds in every month.
What do I need before I travel?
Canadian citizens can use Saudi Arabia’s tourist eVisa for Umrah, and visa processing is included in this package. You’ll also need a passport valid for at least six months beyond your return date and the vaccination certificates Saudi Arabia requires; our Saudi visa guide lists them. Before you fly, we run a pre-departure seminar on performing Umrah.
